Raw materials

There are views that need no horizon to breathe. This series is an invitation to step away from the smooth surface of our certainties and gently touch, with our eyes, the raw skin of the world. Through these images, the landscape forgets its geography to become nothing more than vibrations: a realm of textures, silences, and metamorphoses. By shifting our gaze vertically, the Earth rises like a canvas. Freed from the eternal horizon line and our usual landmarks, the landscape breaks away from measure. Space dissolves, turning into vertigo, a movement where scales blur. The silt of a river flowing into the ocean becomes the fine lines of an epidermis; a tractor track in a barren field evokes the grain of charred paper. The distant becomes intimate, and the viewer wanders into this ambiguity.

Everything here is tension and balance. The images in this series answer one another in a play of fertile oppositions, a visual grammar of the sensory: the matte and the vibrant, order and accident, shadow and imprint.

This raw beauty and these silent architectures conceal a profound vulnerability. What the eye captures here is not immutable. At a time when our civilizations impose unsustainable development, squeezing the Earth to extract ever more, these landscapes become the theater of an accelerated metamorphosis. These silt textures, vegetation geometries, and fragile balances are troubling in their precariousness. Climate disruption, spreading urbanization, soil depletion, global tourism, and industrial agriculture can erase these fleeting masterpieces in an instant. Photographing these textures is also a way of archiving the poetry of a world crumbling under human pressure. Each image then becomes a reprieve, the fleeting trace of a threatened balance between nature's resilience and the bite of our times.

Raw Materials resounds like a return to the essentials, a quest for the elemental. It is origin materials, fluid silt, heavy sand, swirling water, solar shadows captured in its raw truth, just before it changes, mutates under human hands, or vanishes. To enter this series is to accept no longer seeking to name, date, or locate. It is to accept the mystery of a form for what it is, to let oneself be carried by the power of its textures and the purity of its silences, to be overwhelmed by the silent, graphic, and precious poem that the Earth writes daily upon its skin, and that we must learn once again to preserve.
